The hands that made Crown Lynn
TE TOI UKU | CROWN LYNN CLAY MUSEUM

A research project that highlights the history of Pasifika workers that came to Aotearoa to work at Crown Lynn. This history was showcased with a large poster installation on I Love Avondale's Great North Gallery, on Avondale's mainstreet.

In the 1960s – 1970s, finding enough labour to do the long shifts to keep the Crown Lynn factory running was difficult, so recruiters went to the Pacific islands. We know that many Pasifika people came to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to work at Crown Lynn. The museum is looking to find the people who worked in the factory and want to hear their stories! It was their hands that made Crown Lynn.
