2020 marked the 20th anniversary of the Portage Ceramics Awards, organised annually by Te Uru. The challenges that arose from the COVID-19 lockdown in Aotearoa, particularly with regard to timing and budget constraints, meant that a competition was not possible. A special exhibition replaced the traditional awards competition. 2020's Portage survey exhibition displayed all twenty winning works from previous years. This was the first time all winning works have been publicly displayed together.

 

The publication I designed to be published alongside Portage 20/20 was a colourful, light-hearted celebration of the last 20 years of winning works. Featuring a series of half-pages upon which bios were positioned, the layout allowed for a peep-through effect, and a fun interplay of colour and texture.
